So it begins....
I'm going to start this blog out with a little brutal honesty; I'm not a very good writer. I'm not going to use this space to voice my poorly thought out (and poorly spelled) political/religious views, the mundane aspects of my everyday life, or any of the other typical blog topics. With the exception of this initial post, I'm actually going to try to write as little as I can.
The reason I'm starting this blog is because I want to play music for people. Ever since I was a dorky teenager, I've wanted my own radio show. Now that I'm a dorky adult, I realize that the only people in this day and age that are featured in their own radio shows are preexisting celebrities, and even those shows are few and far between. I had resigned myself to the fact that the only outlets for me to expose people to music were through mixtapes and links on Facebook posts. The idea to use this blog as a sort of mixtape to a larger audience grew slowly until I was compelled to actually follow through with it.
This first mixtape was inspired by fall. Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons. There's a dignified beauty to the death of summer that I feel these songs represent well. This mix is made for walking around, listening to your headphones on a blue, cool autumn day and for driving through the cold, rainy nights. The common themes that run through these songs ares a sense of melancholy, with underlying, conflicting senses of wonder and hope. So it's basically the sonic equivalent of an indie film. Hope you enjoy it!
P.S. - Until I can learn to embed music, these mixtapes will unfortunately have to be made up of links to Grooveshark.
